In the UK & Europe, large scale horticultural growers begin to shade their greenhouse. The typical practice is to use a white paint type of product.

Shading Greenhouses used to be a dangerous, slow business that involved brave men balancing on rain gutters while they dragged heavy spray hoses across the glass roofs.

But now spraying the shading agent from autonomous drones has made life much safer, a lot faster and considerably cheaper.

This video shows a single, autonomous XAG drone, with a 20 Litre tank, spraying a 3,000 square meter greenhouse in less than 1 hour.

So the spray operators are happy because they’re not balancing on a glass roof,

the health and safety manager is happy because he doesn’t need justify a dangerous activity.

And the owner is happy because he’s cut his application time in half and greatly reduced his use of shading bill.
