Recently, journalist Marina Kamenev decided to write about the many new versions of what makes a family.

She met couples without children, single parents by choice, adoptive families, rainbow families, families created with the help of sperm donors, and people who had used IVF and surrogacy.

While hearing their stories, Marina also began to reflect on her own family history.
