FinTech and Blockchain in China

Zhiguo He, Ph.D. kicks off his lecture by defining “FinTech” before diving into a broad overview of Blockchain, the impact of different applications of Blockchain in the FinTech world, and the potential challenges and limitations of Blockchain looking forward. In defining Blockchain, He discusses the unique mechanism design of Blockchain through an economics and game-theoretical perspective, and then moves on to Bitcoin’s applications, particularly in the field of trade-finance. He caps off his lecture with a discussion of Libra, a currency proposed by Facebook that will run on Blockchain technology.
