The historical "rivals" (in the sense of Roberto Garvía) of Esperanto argued that the main limit of Esperanto is its low level of immediate comprehensibility. The talk intends to show that, according to the lecturer's experience, the opposite is true: it is enough to give elements of Esperanto harmoniously in any context. Speech should be accompanied with some specific hand gestures, to facilitate listening, with some tricks, especially regarding the correlatives. Eventually, with a phone app, it is easy to display written text, e.g. in Wikipedia.

Federico GOBBO (1974) is full professor at the University of Amsterdam by special appointment in Interlinguistics and Esperanto. He has been Visiting Professor at the University of Turin in Italy and at the Nanjing University in China. He participates in various EU-funded projects (MIME, LITHME, APPLY). His publications appear in several languages, mainly in English, Italian, Esperanto.
