The objective for this restoration project was to plant corals on a rubble patch. Old bed frames served as a foundation, and the corals were grown in rope nurseries for 3 years before being transplanted to the restoration site. The corals belonged to 3 different species of Acropora and 1 species of Pocillopora. The staff at Barefoot Kuata Island Resort will monitor this site for Crown of Thorns Starfish as well as other coral predators.
