During a recent panel and community discussion on equity in legislative bonding, panelist Michael Chaney, Executive Director of Project Sweetie Pie, called for a legislative investment in historically-marginalized communities like North Minneapolis. He asks, "Why can we have municipal liquor stores and not municipal food hubs?" The event, which largely took place during a neighborhood-wide power outage, occurred on Feb. 29 in North Minneapolis at Pillsbury United Communities' Oak Park Community Center.
