Many moons ago a bloke from California Steve Gibby told me about the future regarding video camera's. That there was a digital camera that was going to revolutionize the way that film/video is recorded.
That company RED was owned by the man that created Oakley sunglasses, Jim Jannard. That was back in the day when we were all were shooting on film (celluloid), both stills photography & moving images. Digital photography became the new standard. Starting in stills, then into moving vision/film. For me I have shot surfing from 1976 in every format known to man. Starting in Super 8 film then onto 16 millimetre. Moving onto Betacam, DV Cam, Mini DV, Hi 8, DVC Pro, P2. Then onto Sony with the FS700 then the Sony F5 & Sony FS7. Then onto Red in 2016 with the 8K RED Epic Weapon and finally the greatest camera made, best for action sports todate is the latest 8K Red V Raptor Digital camera. My previous Red camera was good for 80 frames per second at 6K. Our TV sets at this time in our world are mostly producing in 4K. But now with latest Red Camera the V Raptor i can shoot twice as fast, meaning doubling the data in all frame rates (160 frames per second at 6K). This edit shot at my local Sydney slab Cape Solander in Gweagal Country part of Dharawal Nation is simply glorifying how good this camera is on my latest video trip literally hours before jumping on flight to the other side of the planet, too Nazare in Portugal. It's a ambient arty edit. Enjoy
PS - Stay tuned for the full warts and all edit from this day without all the slow mo.
