Cactus wins the lottery by Ex Novo is a prickly pear Berliner Weisse is a very strange sour beer. It is little less interesting than it sounds like it should be, but well done and very drinkable. It is very southwest oriented, but cool to see that Ex Novo is not taking themselves too seriously up in a very serious beer climate. a light peach color, lots of haze, and a spongy white head. The aroma is fun, definitely more sweet than sour, fruity melons, and juicy. It maybe not be distinctly prickly pear, but it doesn't have an overdone artificial perfume some beers that use prickly pear tend to have. Tangy in the flavor, but still very balanced with the sweet fruity juicy notes. light and refreshing taste but not at all watery. there is a lot of bubbles and roundness to this, very active and alive, with a cleaner profile than it smells like it should. I have not had nearly enough beer from these Ex Novo but i will keep them in the fridge. Pretty interesting stuff!
