Today’s video is related the current pandemic. I will show how we can use a pulse oximeter device to measure SpO2 saturation in our blood. This device will tell us how healthy our lung is by measuring the oxygen level in the blood. If there is any respiratory infection, the SpO2 level will go down. Therefore, the Oxygen saturation level indirectly indicates the infection. We can tell the severity of the lung infection with the saturation level.

Healthy Person: 94-100% SpO2 saturation
You need Oxygen support at less than 93% SpO2 saturation (Call for help)

These figures are very important during the current pandemic as many known infected patients are quarantined at home due to lack of medical resources. Only severe cases are being hospitalized and hence the patients should know the severity of their illness by monitoring the SpO2 levels to call for help.
