Dr. Kyla Lara-Breitinger, a Resident in Preventive Cardiology and Dr. Sorin Pislaru a Professor of Medicine in Cardiovascular Diseases, both at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, share results of their study appearing in the August 2022 issue of Mayo Clinic Proceedings, where they developed an 8 point system for identifying those patients at highest mortality risk from tricuspid regurgitation. They found that patients with multiple comorbidities were less likely to be at the highest risk from the condition, which perhaps indicates those patients with tricuspid regurgitation alone would benefit most from medical intervention.
