Missives are the common name given to the various letters that pass between purchaser and sellers’ Solicitors when buying or selling a property in Scotland. They are in effect the creation of a contract for the sale or purchase of property. They pass between solicitors once the basic terms have been verbally agreed.

In the process of these missives, your solicitor will ask you a number of questions which will form the basis of the contract and the content of the missives.
