My indoor cat Wasabi is an outdoor cat at heart; he's always the first to race out the door into the great unknown if you’re not paying attention. The idea to build him a catio (read: enclosed patio, but for cats!) has been floating around in my head for years, but I've never had the space. But once I bought my first house I finally had just the spot for this DIY cat enclosure project! Set up around the window, this DIY catio was a cheap and simple cat enrichment project that lets him scratch his itch for the outdoors while staying safe. So, with a few screws, some 2x4s, and a lot of trial and error, I planned, designed, and built my first ever solo woodworking project (with the help of my foreman, of course).
