Gigafactory Texas on 24 July 2021! This is where the Cyber Truck and Model Y will be built!

Busy early Saturday! Model Y shells delivered to the second floor of the paint shop so with this and still waiting for the larger 8,000-ton Giga-Press to arrive and have a structure to put it in, I question the rumors that the Cyber Truck will be first. Also, we are well into the 3rd quarter now, so the big push to get initial production started this quarter is on! Will they make it? I guess we will see!

There is a brand-new east area being set up today (trailers/staging), which may be related to the former east side staging area being cleared out … perhaps some construction will be happening over there? We shall see.

Here are the highlights from today's video:
- Model Y shells have been delivered in the past 24 hours at the second floor of the paint shop. These will be used for equipment calibration and testing ahead of certifying the paint shop is ready to begin initial pre-production.
- The initial casting roof installation of the "Double-T" concrete panels is now done and preparations, including a new worker access scaffolding are ready to begin applying steel mesh and other details that will then allow concrete to be poured. They will need to begin construction of the perimeter grade beam before wall panels can be installed, and we will be watching for initial construction of the casting machine foundations and then the final slab as well. None of this is work has begun yet.
- At the battery cell structure, wall panels are being prepared for installation on the west side and we also see much of this area has been paved. They are widening the area by cutting into the hillside as well. We also see cranes hoisting roofing materials onto the roof, and then workers prepositioning these around for future application. Of note, it appears the cementitious covering may be completed as roofing materials are being set on top of this now.
- The General Assembly structure angled area at the south end is now at the south perimeter grade beam, which means a mostly rectangular section remains to complete this portion of the main factory structure. There are more columns installed in this area as well, suggesting we will see more steel assembled today and the last rectangular area closing in on completion very soon!
- The central area steel structure is now 8 sections long (about 320 feet or about 97 meters) and spans the full width of this area as well. Roofing and flooring decking have been applied over most of the structure as well, showing rapid progress.
- The “alleyway” between the paint shop and the battery cell structures also has a large portion of it’s steel structure assembled, mainly over the area where the Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer (RTO) system was installed.
- On the east side, we see more fill dirt and gravel being delivered from off site via center-dump trucks. The materials stored in this area have also grown in quantity, to include many corrugated steel pipes as well.
- Northeast of this area, a new clearing has been made and trailers, equipment and materials are being moved into this area … I believe this to have happened within the last 48 hours or so.
