Single split knots and double split knots are two kinds of traditional ventilation technologies for hair systems. They're both tied to the base by knotting but there are some differences. Ventilating hair with single split knots means very small knots but the hair direction is not easy to control. In contrast, double split knots are relatively big but they are very durable, so the hair will not shed easily during usage and the hair direction can be changed freely.

Both methods are well suited to lace and mono bases. In addition, single split knots can also be used on skin bases because the knots are very small, so they will not tear the skin base during hooking. Due to the respective characteristics of these two methods, we usually use them in combination. We'll use single split knots on the front and when these knots are bleached, the front appearance will look very realistic. Double split knots, on the other hand, are used on the back and sides to increase the lifespan of the hairpiece.

In this video, we’re going to show you how to make a hair system with single split knots and double split knots. By the end of it, you will be able to make more informed decisions when it comes to suggesting these ventilation techniques to your clients.
