With a long layover in Taipei I hired a private tour guide to show me the beauty of this East Asian city. The Chiang Kai-shek memorial along with the inspiring Changing of the Guards was the first stop, followed by a trip to the top of Taipei 101, the eighth tallest structure in the world, a memorable dumpling dinner at one of Taipei's most popular restaurants, and finally a look at the beautiful architecture and design of the Grand Hotel of Taipei.
