Did this review of Wes Anderson's The French Dispatch change your perspective on the film? Will you be going to watch the various films that inspired it?

Personally, I'd recommend watching the films of Tati, Truffaut, Becker, Clouzot, and Duvivier first. If you like those, then watch all the other movies. Watching every movie that he claimed inspired the film in some way or another was an incredibly fun exercise as almost all the movies were wonderful.

I'd say it's good to watch the film noirs of the 40's and some of the classical French movies before diving deep into the French New Wave. You'll have more of a context for the films and you'll be able to appreciate them much more. So maybe a good strategy for getting through the list of films is to just watch them chronologically.

What was your favorite short story in the film? The Concrete Masterpiece with Adrien Brody, Lea Seydoux, and Benicio Del Toro; Revisions to a Manifesto with Timothee Chalamet and Frances McDormand, or perhaps The Private Dining Room with Jeffrey Wright, Matheiu Almaric, Ed Norton, Saoirse Ronan, and Liev Schreiber? Who gave the best performance?

The movie will be coming out on HBO Max and Disney + soon, so look out for that!
