In this video I, an I-CAR Platinum Certified painter and collision repairman, use Rustoleum Turbo spray paint cans to do a DIY paint job on my 2000 Chevy Tracker 2.0L.
Starting with disassembly, I remove the mirrors, trim, door handles, lights, soft top, grille, etc. To achieve proper prep I use 400 grit sandpaper, then degrease everything before carefully masking using a combination of tape and "tape and drape" plastic.
After a mist coat, I shoot for 80% coverage on the second pass. My third coat is a full coverage wet coat. I was very surprised with the 10" fan pattern on the Turbo cans. It very nearly matched application techniques used when using and HVLP spray gun.
After painting the truck white, I masked polygonal (digital, block, modern) arctic camo using gray, black, and "key lime green" blocks.
I also sprayed the front steel Jeep bumper and push bar.
