In this part of the Series I'll cover the 5th generation Toyota 4Runner Frame How is it constructed and is it any good?

In this brand new series on my channel I will take you on a Journey of discovery if you would on the very popular 5th generation Toyota 4runner expanding from 2010-2021. I will go over most of the major components of the 4runner so we can find out together what makes this truck ancient and what makes it reliable.

Continuing on my series on why the 5th generation Toyota 4runner is so reliable I will take you on a tour of the 4runner's frame. We'll look at how it's constructed first.

Then I will share with you the one single issue and possibly the only issue that this frame has which is rust.

Because of it's ancient nature, this frame can suffer from rust issues if you live in an area with road salt use. Coating this frame and washing it regularly is a very good idea.

I will also share tips from experience on the common spots to look for rust when buying one from the rust belt area.


In the next part of this series I will take you in a deep dive into the frame of the 4runner and it's common issues with rust.
