EDIT: In this video, Nikki incorrectly stated that the Mustang Mach E didn't meet one of its range predictions - managing 210 rather than 211 miles for the standard range all-wheel drive variant.

This was in error. The car actually managed 211 miles in the test, and the original prediction was 210 miles. We are sorry for transposing these two figures around - and sorry for stating that it met all but one of the promised ranges (when it actually met or beat them all).

Just over a year ago, the Ford Mustang Mach E got its official reveal just ahead of the LA Auto Show.

Nikki was one of the lucky journalists to get a chance to see the car ahead of its launch (you can see the video here:    • The Ford Mustang Mach E Is Ford's Big...  )- and at the time was told about the range per charge Ford was keep to achieve when the car went on sale in late 2020.

Now we're in late 2020 - and Ford has indeed managed to meet all but one of its promised EPA range targets.

Yet some people -- both in the automotive press and the general public - aren't happy. They're complaining about the range not being enough, or the performance not being enough to beat other car companies - namely Tesla.

But as we're about to explain, it's not just about beating the number one slot - and having that mindset is sometimes very dangerous indeed.
