Mark Twain Elementary School in Long Beach, California, has been a leader in school campus trash reduction and recycling programs since 2007. In our first year, we reduced our lunchtime waste by 85%. We have focused on lunchtime recycling and reusable containers, forming a Student "Green Team" and a holding a monthly bottles/cans collection that earns over $2,000 a year for our school. This video was created to inform and inspire other schools all around the world to reduce their own waste - because "it all starts with us."
