"august" has never been just a song – it's a portal to a world of cherished memories. Growing up in Florida, the song's imagery became intertwined with my own experiences, from running on sandy beaches to chasing sunsets with friends.

The beauty of "august" and the other songs in the folklore love triangle lies in their ability to adapt their narratives to fit the listener's story, which transports us back into the world of this summer shared by Augustine and James. It's a season so heavily romanticized that it burns bright and fades quickly, leaving only the bittersweet residue of those cherished yet scarred memories.

When I sat down to write the initial draft of the script for Part 2, I knew I wanted a primary element of this section to be storytelling through gorgeous scenery and the true evocation of being "lost in the memory". Writing the perfect script to abridge the intensive imagery of the song and the nuanced character of Augustine took months for me to shake down. Augustine's complexity is fascinating – she can be perceived as a homewrecker driven by selfish intentions or as a girl yearning to feel seen and loved by someone who truly understands her.

Despite Augustine often being vilified alongside James in this story, I've always sympathized with her experience, especially after Taylor Swift herself shared her perspective on the character in a sit-down discussion with collaborator Jack Antonoff during the folklore Long Pond Studio Sessions documentary.

“The Love Triangle”, our take on this whole story, has almost been out for a month, and the film has already received almost 300k views in this short period of time– which is way more than any of us involved could have ever imagined. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU, so much. As someone whose creativity has been deeply influenced by Taylor Swift's artistry over the past decade, being able to co-create a passion project of this scale with my hometown friends who share that passion of art and creativity has been one of the greatest experiences I’ve had in my eighteen years of life.

It would mean everything to everyone involved in the making of “The Love Triangle” if you could help us to share our project with other fans, filmmakers, and the world, as it would be a dream for Taylor, Jack, and Aaron to watch this one day. This has truly been the experience of a lifetime, and we cannot wait to share more with everyone in the future!
