Family butcher Ieuan Edwards says that Martin's claim that the UK is facing a cost of living “catastrophe” are not strong enough. Last week former Tory MP and minister for health Edwina Currie told Martin to stop using the word ‘catastrophe’ when talking about the current crisis. She said he should instead advise people to take “sensible steps” to reduce the effect of the price rises on their families and businesses. But Mr Edwards, who runs Edwards of Conwy, and is facing an energy price rise of £12.5k per month, tweeted: "Edwina. Last year I paid £129k for energy at my small factory. This morning I received a quotation for the next 12 months, it was £782k.It’s gone from £2.5k to £15k A WEEK! Only thing wrong with @MartinSLewis using the word catastrophe, it’s not strong enough!" Edwards of Conwy are one of thousands of Welsh firms facing huge rises in their energy costs - with no price cap for businesses.
