In mining, water and industries that require long infrastructures, they rely largely on manual, costly and often ineffective methods of monitoring and managing their long infrastructures. This exposes them to safety, environmental and financial liabilities, increased operational expenses, and lower productivity.

Terra15’s sensing technology is based on standard optical fibre cables, including existing cables that are already in the ground. The hardware device simply connects to one end of the cable and turns every meter of the cable into a virtual microphone and vibration sensor.

The algorithm picks up a change in sound, like a banging from a fault in a conveyor belt and an alert is sent through notifying the end user with the time and location of the noise.
