I produced and directed a tribute to Halston with Liza Minnelli which was presented in May of 1992 at Lincoln Center. It was a historic event for the fashion world, paying homage to one of the major forces of 20th century American fashion. This is part one, which features Liza Minnelli, host of the event, Katharine Graham, the iconic former publisher of the Washington Post, plus exclusive videos and images of Halston. Major cultural figures such as Martha Graham, Elizabeth Taylor, Rudolph Nureyev and Andy Warhol were regulars at Halston's shows. This was a fascinating era in American fashion.
