In this video we take a look at replacing the heat tape (or heat "trace" as electricians call them) on the main water line under a mobile home. The heat tape protects the waterline from freezing in colder climates.
Replacing a heat tape that is suspected of not working in warm weather is pro-active maintenance. Crawling around under the mobile home on a cold winter day after the waterline has frozen and broke is re-active maintenance. Either way, it is not really a pleasant job to do, but almost anyone can do this, and we are doing it before we put the new skirting on and get everything closed up again.
