After sending her youngest child to preschool, Fiona Afshar found creative fulfillment in cooking, especially in making homemade pasta. Five years later, at the age of 57, Fiona now has over 475,000 followers on Instagram who watch her videos of making pasta in a rainbow of vivid colors, shapes and patterns. In 2022, through branding deals with fashion companies like Gucci, virtual cooking classes and online sales of her homemade pasta, Fiona brought in about $129,000.
