The WNBA is a league full of out and proud queer women, but that wasn't always the case. The Queer History of the WNBA is a multi-part video essay covering the history of queer players and moments, as well as the history of the league's relationship to its queer players in fans.

In the first episode, "The Glass Closet," we explore the discourse around queer issues at the time of the WNBA's founding, how the league responded to it, and some of the pioneering players and fans who pushed the league to embrace queer women as an asset instead of a liability.
