We've spent almost a year riding both the Specialized Levo SL and the Orbea Rise, two of the best lightweight eMTBs on the market. For the last month we have traveled to different locations and ridden the bikes back to back in an effort to see where the bikes shine and what could be improved.

If you want even more detailed information be sure to visit our website theloamwolf.com and check out the full write up on both these bikes. The eBike Light category is an interesting one and we look forward to seeing where it will go and how they will evolve as batteries and motors get lighter.

The Orbea Rise boasts 60Nm of torque out of a custom tuned Shimano STEPS EP8 RS drive unit whereas the Specialized Levo SL has 35Nm of torque from the Specialized drive unit. While the display on the Levo SL isn't ideal, it's much better than what comes on the Orbea Rise in its stock configuration.

The Levo SL is a bit more composed, calm and is a bit more plush in its suspension feel whereas the Orbea Rise is light, stiff and feels like a race bike. Depending on your ride style and comfort preference either bike could suit you better in terms of ride quality and bump absorption.

Our crew had a blast testing both of these eBikes and hope you enjoyed coming along for the ride.
