It has now been several months since we have seen a major autopilot update and I wanted to share some simple roadway maneuvers my Tesla consistently fails to navigate. As soon as it loses sight of the lane lines, my car has a very hard time maintaining its lane position and I am forced to take over every time. I did purchase full self driving when I ordered my Tesla and have been very critical of this feature given its high cost. The Tesla full self driving system has the potential to be incredible. It is important to be aware that this system cannot be blindly trusted in its current state. As the full self driving beta expands and more vehicles can contribute to the data pool the cars autonomous performance will hopefully improve.
