Circuit speaker Vito L. shares his relatable, and hilarious journey, working steps with an old-timer sponsor, in NA. In this recording, he shares the step by step instructions his sponsor had given him, after getting clean in 1960, while sprinkling in stories important to his recovery, and to Narcotics Anonymous history.

Born in 1940, he covers a little bit about his background growing up catholic, and in The Bronx. Vito picked up his first drug at the age of four, and was mainlining heroin by ten. He quickly gets into his story of recovery, by describing the first time he went to an NA meeting, after being told of a “drug meeting” in the back of another fellowship.

In 1964 Rockefeller laws were in place, which made meetings between addicts’ illegal. Therefore, he moved to San Diego where there were two NA meetings. Vito then found a sponsor, and started working the steps. The bulk of this talk is Vito going step by step, and detailing his experience with each of the steps. Enjoy!
