Meet Eric Huezo, a member of the Local 47 Apprenticeship Program. When Eric left high school, he wasn’t sure what to do. After spending some time painting with his dad, he decided to try out college. However, it was clear college wasn’t right for Eric. Lucky for us, he took his willingness to learn and became a valued member of the IBEW.

Eric has demonstrated his willingness to learn through asking for individual help and not being afraid to ask questions or speak up. As an apprentice, Eric has done everything from tower climbing to transmission work to substation work. He is now working in overhead distribution and loves how different the job is everyday - he doesn’t feel stuck doing the same thing all the time, he is able to move, learn, and continue growing in his electrical career. Eric truly feels like the IBEW provided him with the opportunity of a lifetime, and he wouldn’t change a thing.
