NAMASTE

There are lots of things that can be said about the Hindi singing voices of Disney's beloved females, but one thing that cannot be said by anyone - is that they all sound the same.

And there is good reason for that, it is the rich musical diversity that exists in the backgrounds of the singers chosen from this country for voicing the princesses we see on screen. From indigenous genres like Carnatic and Hindustani to western genres like opera and gospel - singers from all walks of life have entered the studio to breathe life to our beloved Disney females in Hindi.

Here are a handful of these singers, with clips of them singing in the genre they have their musical roots in and which helped them develop their voice and performance style today.

- Dominique Cerejo (Jasmine 1992): Western Gospel
- Chandreyee Bhattacharya @chandreyeebhattacharya2615 (Ariel 1989): Ghazal Singing
- Sunayana Sarkar @sunayanasarkarofficial1103 (Luisa Madrigal): Blues
- Arunaja Nalinakshan @arunajaism (Ariel 2023): Carnatic Classical
- Marianne D'Cruz Aiman @mariannedcruzaiman3590 (Snow White, Tiana, Pocahontas): Western Classical & Gospel
- Monali Thakur @monalithakur8623 (Jasmine 2019): Rabindra Sangeet
- Riya Duggal @riyaduggal (Mirabel): Pop
- Sunidhi Chauhan @sunidhichauhanofficial01 (Elsa): Jagrana Singing
- Aishwarya Majmudar @AishwaryaMajmudar (Anna): Khayal Singing

So, which of these singers sounded the closest to their dubbing performances, and whose voice sounded remarkably different in real life?
