This is Pasta dish is an absolute delight! Being a pasta dish, it originated in Italy oncourse, but mainly in the form of Spaghetti Bolognese in which there was a ragu sauce (or a tomato based sauce with minced meat). The meatball version was mainly introduced by the Italians living in America, where meatballs were quite popular, and so they incorporated it into their pasta recipes.
The meatballs are mostly made with ground lamb or beef. Here the recipe is done with chicken. You can replace it with other meat if you wish (If you're replacing with mutton, then make the balls of smaller size, as mutton takes much longer to cook).
SO go ahead and make your own Spaghetti with meatballs! You'll enjoy it for sure!
P.S. - You can garnish with fresh basil as well. Also, all pasta recipes are supposed to be eaten right after they're made. If you don't want to have it right away, you can make the sauce and meatballs beforehand and boil the pasta and mix it with the sauce later.
