I spend a week with the 2023 Volkswagen Golf R 20th Anniversary Edition with the DSG automatic to see what it's like to live with. Having only briefly driven a modified Mk8 Golf R with the DSG, I was curious to see how it would feel in stock form. Unfortunately, it wasn't a great experience in my opinion and I definitely think the manual is the better choice. I had some other complaints as well, but overall the Golf R is a great value these days if the things I talk about in the video don't bother you. What do you think about the Mk8 Golf R DSG and for the owners out there, does your DSG and/or touchscreen act this way too? Thanks to VW for providing this vehicle to review.
