The demise of St. Joseph Riverside Hospital a time lapsed video.
The hospital was opened in the early to mid 1920s and was simply known as Riverside Hospital.
Between 1924 and 1927, Sisters of the Humility of Mary assumed ownership and it became St. Joseph Riverside Hospital
After the closure in 1996, the first and second floor of the former hospital was used for businesses, non-profit organizations, and other commercial interests. The facility was known as “Riverside Square” and had included tenants such as the Trumbull County Republican Party, Safe House, a privately owned charter school, and a commercial laundry, with the Veterans Administration utilizing an adjoining building for a clinic. After the closure in 1996, the staff relocated to the former Warren General Hospital. The building was ordered to be vacated by October 2008.
