Relax and take a virtual bike ride with us! For this amazing scenic bike ride we traveled to North Lake Tahoe in Nevada to ride the world-famous Flume Trail. The Flume Trail Mountain Bike Ride is a moderately difficult one way 14.5 mile ride at 7000′ to 8000′ feet in elevation with over a 1000′ of climbing in the first four miles and 4.5 miles of single track. The Flume Trail itself traverses above several steep sections, so those afraid of heights be forewarned. In this world, most spectacular vistas require traversing steep terrain.

We visited North Lake Tahoe for this scenic bike ride in late May 2022. We picked up a shuttle from Flume Trail Bikes. The shuttle dropped us off at Spooner State Park. The cost of the shuttle was $18 per person which includes the state park entrance fee. The folks at Flume Trail Bikes where extremely helpful in explaining the current conditions of the trail. If you don't have your own bikes, you can rent them (including e-bikes) at the bike shop.

The Flume Trail bike trail has the most beautiful views of any bike trail we have ridden to date. This is a must ride for anyone (beginner or expert) if you are in the Lake Tahoe area.

** IMPORTANT BIKE RIDE INFORMATION AND TIPS **

- One important thing to mention is that it is extremely difficult to find a parking spot at the beaches, or public parking areas in the Incline Village area. If you use the shuttle service you can park for free for as long as you want. The nice folks at Flume Trail Bikes also allowed us to leave our car their after the Flume Trail ride so we could ride down to the beaches.

- The shuttle runs every day, every 30 minutes from May 20 to mid November. Check the links below for shuttle information.

- The trail is rated as Blue (moderately difficult). The majority of the trail is double track and very easy to ride. There is about 4.5 miles with 1,000 feet of climbing. If you are on an e-bike this will be no problem. The most scenic part of the trail is about 4.5 miles long and there is a decent amount of high-altitude exposure at 8,000 ft. However, there is nothing technical and the trail is fairly wide and well-maintained. You can easily walk any sections if you too feel scared to ride.

- The trail is extremely well maintained. There are cell phone towers in the woods which provide service for bike riders and hikers. There were also multiple water and rest room areas during the first half of the ride.

We both are riding 2021 Luna Cycle X1 Enduro electric mountain bikes. My bike is has Ludicrous mode upgrade to 2,0000 watts. Her Luna X1 is stock with 1,2000 watts. As you can see this two bikes have no problem with this desert terrain.

THE BIKE RIDEZ STORY & MISSION :

We are Ebike Explorers! This is a channel about electric mountain bike riding for regular people. We are not hardcore mountain bike riders (yet). If you are looking to see trail videos where the riders drop off 8,000 ft mountains at 45° angles you are in the wrong place (at least for now). We are full-time professionals who live in Henderson Nevada which is about 20 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip. Most of the videos you will see on this channel feature bike trails around the Las Vegas valley. Although we were avid bike riders before, the change to ebikes (EMTB) has opened up a whole new world of exploration and adventure for which we hope you will join us. Side note: Although we thoroughly love riding our e-mountain bikes for exercise and adventure, bike riding is our primary form of meditation and stress relief. Our bike rides allow for a few hours without our laptops, and without our phones where we can stay focused on being in the moment. Just like meditation and yoga, when we bike ride, we focus on our breathing, we push our bodies to feel more, and, we get to see some of the most spectacular scenic landscapes, sunsets and wildlife that the Mojave dessert has to offer.Whether you are a Las Vegas local or visiting from any where in the world, our hope is that with these videos we will encourage you to take advantage of the extensive Nevada bike trail system.

Are you ready?
