Set up and club face control are key in hitting an elevated pitch shot consistently.

Set up like you would a putt, ball on inside of your front foot, shaft of the club straight up and down (no forward press) and swing the club back keeping the club face in front of you. This will allow for a natural motion of letting the club fall back down to impact and you will strike the ball consistently with an on-plane strike. The impact position will mirror your initial set up which will be repeatable.
