The Van Buren Conservation District hosted its first Backyard Symposium in March 2021 to help folks further transform yards into a haven with the environment in mind.

This final edition of the VBCD Backyard Symposium will cover the definition of composting, the benefits of composting, different composting methods, and how to create a DIY composting bin. Attendees will be able to turn their uneaten food into "black gold" while learning about current WMU composting efforts at the Gibbs Site.
