I saw how a Chinese woman cuts off sleeves from shirts and makes chic sets and did the same

A men's shirt gives real scope for creativity. Often in the wardrobe there are models that the husband will never wear again, some have become too small, and others have gone out of fashion. You look: the shirt looks like a shirt, but in fact the collar is large, the cuffs are high, and the sleeve itself is wide - all this makes the shirt old-fashioned.
Many women like to change them on themselves. Maybe because the shirt fabric is of good quality and is mainly used for sewing men's shirts. This material also does not fade or wrinkle when worn. There are specimens that do not fade over the years, do not shrink, do not become covered with pellets and remain as good as new. All parts are used: collar, sleeves, cuffs. It would seem, what can you make of this?
It turns out there are many options for using them.
I would like to bring to your attention two products made from sleeves from one shirt.
Shopper bag:
At first glance, it seems that there is little fabric in the sleeves, but if you rip them apart at the seam, you get a decent amount of fabric.
- First, I cut off the cuffs, leaving 1 cm for allowance.
- I cut off the buttons and stitched the fastener on the sleeves themselves. The sleeve cap was rounded, then folded and trimmed. I swept all sides.
- From the edge where the cuffs were, I set aside 20 cm on both sides. I laid a line from these points.
- From the same edge I marked points 2 and 11 cm.
These fold marks are where the ring handles will be sewn into.
- The stitching is done when the rings are inside the drawstring.
Wallet:
- Sleeve cuffs most often remain idle. So why not use them as small convenient bags. This will require a couple of lines.
- But if you add a strip of lace between the two cuffs, you get a larger wallet.
The wallet is ready.
These are the changes that happened.
It’s not at all difficult to alter a thing; you don’t have to be a professional seamstress to do this; you just need to have a desire to create something new.
All the best!
