If you want a new thing for yourself, then it will be enough to change a man’s shirt for yourself. And it won’t be just a short blouse, but a decent thing, looking at which you won’t be able to tell that it was made from a man’s shirt.
To do this, you need to try on your husband’s warm flannel shirt and take it for yourself, especially since it’s too small for him.
If the size is suitable, you can safely start sewing. This item will be a bomber jacket, a simple windbreaker or a light jacket. It is also comfortable everyday clothing that looks good not only on young people, but also on adults.
It should be taken into account that the bomber jacket should be loose enough so as not to restrict movement.
1) First, I cut off the length, put on a shirt and marked how much was needed.
2) Then I shortened the sleeves and cut off the cuffs.
3) I also removed the collar.
4) Next, I cut off the fastener on both sides. Where the loops were cut along them, and along the line of buttons. If you connect the sections you will get a straight sheet.
5) I stitched the fastener on the sleeves.
6) When I removed the excess, I prepared elastic knitwear, from which I will cut the collar and cuffs.
7) For the sleeves, I measured the elastic on myself; it should fit tightly around the wrists.
8) I cut the bottom elastic 25 cm smaller than the width of the shirt. I made marks on the elastic and the shirt for uniform assembly, aligned them and stitched them on the overlocker.
9) I stitched the elastic, leaving 1 mm from the seam.
I cut out the collar, for this purpose I folded the knitwear and made smooth cuts in arcs along the edges. The length of the knitted insert is slightly shorter than the neck of the shirt, about 3 cm.
10) I serged the front seams and attached the zipper.
11) To prevent seams from being visible in the neck area, I sewed triangular inserts. For them I used fabric that I cut from the bottom.
12) This way you can easily turn a man’s shirt into a woman’s wardrobe item.
The bomber jacket looks great with jeans, skirts, sneakers or sneakers.
All the best!
