Happy birthday, Ren (@renvids!!

I hope you're having a great day. I'm so grateful to have you in my life, to have someone who is just as obsessed with a random ship no one else seems to care about (BUT SHOULD). I couldn't help but try to finish a video of them for you, even if the plot got derailed a bit.

This was originally meant to be Dorcaline, then shifted more towards Emmeline dealing with the aftermath. I figured, as a Jenna fan, you wouldn't mind too much.

It probably doesn't make the /most/ sense without knowing my personal headcanons for her story, though you can get the jist of it from knowing the canon part (that she's one of the few survivors).

But, I also think of her story to be extremely complex. There's a period of time in the war where she's under the Imperio Curse, and there's bits in the video where she is on trial for that. ("You can punish me, as you see fit.") She also makes complex decisions, putting the greater good before herself and her loved ones. (Sturgis, ironically, judging her for it, not knowing what he'd go through 15 years later.) This might be what causes her to lose Dorcas, and while she blames herself, she knows that Dorcas would've made the same choice.

That's really the key word of this video: Choices. And it's unfortunately successor: Consequences.

Funny how I have all these thoughts and stories, curse myself for not having a long enough video for it, but absolutely do nothing with the 5+ minute video I've been working on for 4 years...

And shoutout to Lili (@Bellsilili) who originally found the most heartbreaking Jily funeral! You're a real one!!

(It's the way there's not a single happy scene in this...)
