Rottweilers still have a bad rep of being dangerous, uncontrollable, killing animals. What people don't understand that it is all about how their owners train them!

My rottweiler, Biggie, has been the most gentle dog that I personally know! While being pregnant, I often was told to give him away because they assumed that he would be a danger around my child when she's born. I strongly disagreed and am determined to prove that Biggie will be an amazing companion and protector of my whole family. Yes, there are cautions! Biggie is not even a full (human) year old yet and there are many things that we still need to regulate! With that being said, my partner and I have already discussed that we would not leave Biggie and our newborn without supervision. But we are confident that Biggie will thrive and they will become the best of friends!

STEPS TO INTRODUCE:

- Wearing baby lotion on our own skin so that Biggie gets use to the scent.
- Playing sounds of babies crying so that Biggie gets use to the sound.
- Introducing Biggie with our pet gate in between, allowing him to sniff her and let him be aware of her presence in the household.
- Walking around the house with baby in our arms, ignoring Biggie's excitement to jump and eventually teach him to be calm.
- Letting Biggie come closer to her each and every day.
