With the limited-time sign-up bonus offer of 125,000 Bonvoy points on the Marriott Bonvoy Business card, I decided that now was the time to go ahead and jump on this card.

But just like my last application for the Hilton Honors Business card, this application was NOT straightforward so in this video, I’ll explain why I wanted this card, what made this application so difficult, and how I was able to navigate through multiple credit card denials.

There were two main reasons why this card was so important to me and my current credit card strategy:

First, I’m waiting out my Chase 5/24 status, so I’m targeting business cards since they don’t show up on my personal credit report.

Second, I’m in a unique situation where I’ll be traveling a lot for work in the near future, and with all that travel, I could make it to Titanium Elite status with Marriott if I had this card.

The issue with this application is that I know that I'm at the maximum number of American Express credit cards, which is 5, so it was really important for me to be prepared to cancel one card before applying for this new card.

So after planning this all out, I applied for the card and got denied twice, so I contacted the reconsideration line twice as well. I had two chances to turn that frown upside down, and in the end, I was able to do so and get this card!
