As a Seattle personal injury lawyer I get questions from time to time about how long does someone have to go to massage therapy, chiropractor, physical therapist, etc.? I often wonder why I get this question is it because someone wants to know how long it is going to take them to get better, is it because they have been pressured by insurance companies to settle already, or is it because they are faking their injuries? One of the three could be true but it could also be due to the fact that there is a timeline for how long someone has to file a lawsuit but they ask the question differently.

The short answer is that it depends. It depends on what your doctor says and how you feel. If you are feeling good, you can stop therapy soon probably. A doctor will know more as they are the professional and have seen people stop treatment early only to need more treatment later because they were not quite 100%.

In Washington State, a personal injury victim of a car accident, there is a three year statute of limitation. This means that an injured client has three years to file a lawsuit or settle their case from the date of the car accident or they lose their ability to recover forever, possibly.
