If you watched Dr. David Price's Viral video interview with his family members, he said that he only wore the N95 mask when performing procedures which would result in aerosol production. Otherwise, he would wear a surgical mask when not in those situations. This will also prolong the effectiveness of the N95 masks. He seemed confident that the mode of transmission through Human to human contact is from a contaminated hand to mouth/nose/eye area. He felt it was possible from breathing in an aerosol breathed out from an infectious patient, but if you kept a 6 foot distance the risk is still lower.

The main benefit of a non-N95 mask is really to ensure that *your hands do not touch your nose and mouth area accidentally.* We are creatures of habit and also human, so even if you are really good 95-99% of the time, only wearing the mask when outside 100% of the time and washing your hands religiously immediately after touching a potentially contaminated surface (so you don't forget to do it, if think you will wash it later when you get home.)

Today March 28, 2020, Weill Cornell's Dr. Matt McCarthy reported that the Centers for Disease Control will revise their recommendations on protective masks. In the next ten days, the CDC guidelines will reportedly change to advising Americans to wear masks in everyday life.

I wanted to think of a disposable solution which is easy to make using paper towels, staples, paperclip and rubber bands which every American has at home, or easily order for home delivery from a Stationary supply store like Staples..

The reason for the name Omega face mask is due to the design of the mask when viewed from the side. There are many Youtube videos showing how to make a papertowel facemark in less than a minute using the same materials. When I tried to make those, the fit was not great and although it does the job of training you not to touch your face, I did not find it comfortable to wear more than a couple of minutes.

The design of the Omega Facemask using a regular Bounty Select-a-size extended paper towel (7" wide) is already two-ply. When folded in half, it becomes 4 ply and creates some stiffness to the mask which allows for a small tent in the middle so the mask material is not suctioned into your mouth and nose blocking your breathing. It also looks more like a regular face mask until major manufacturers can make enough masks to supply the U.S.

In the meantime, this is a easy way to make as many masks as needed when venturing outside without spending any additional money especially when the majority if not all Americans are all hurting financially.
