Islam gives mothers a very high status. The Prophet Muhammad taught in Hadith that paradise is under the feet of mothers. Allah is described as more loving than 70 of our mothers! Respect for mothers and mother figures is very important for Muslims, as we can see from the Sunnah of the Prophet peace be upon him.
