Ursula Romero - CEO of ISB International Sports Broadcasting & Film Director/Producer

Ursula Romero is a recognised international sport broadcaster, film producer and director. With an extensive career in international sports broadcasting, Ursula has worked for all Olympic and Paralympic Games since 1996 in a variety of production roles as well as two FIFA World Cups, while also hosting various World Championship events.

The daughter of legendary sports broadcaster, Manolo Romero, Ursula currently serves as the CEO of International Sports Broadcasting Company (ISB). An avid film-maker, Ursula is currently in post-production for her second feature film, Winter of the Crow, as a producer. She is also on the TV Commission of the UIPM Union Internationale de Pentathlon Moderne (English: International Modern Pentathlon Union)

Ursula is a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Utah in Film Arts and Video Studies. She is also a graduate of the London Film Academy, holding a Master's degree in Cinematography and Film/Video Production.

Ursula Romero Biography

Ursula Romero has had an extensive career in sports broadcasting, having actively participated in numerous Olympic and Paralympic Games since 1996. She is the daughter of Manolo Romero, the founder of Olympic Broadcasting Services, and a pioneer in the sports broadcasting industry.

She has played pivotal roles in organising two FIFA World Cups and the production of World Championship events. Ursula was also involved in the production of two Oscar Ceremonies in Los Angeles and the Announcement Ceremony for the 2009 and 2011 IOC Sessions.

Ursula was recognised at the 2015 European Games in Baku, where she received the "Innovative Use of Mini HSSM Cameras" award at the SPORTEL AWARDS Ceremony. As a Producer and Director for various sports, she has been instrumental in broadcasting events like Beach Volleyball, BMX, Cycling Road, Triathlon, and Swimming. As the current Managing Director of ISB, Ursula continues to lead the company as the "Host Broadcasting Company”.

Educated at the London Film Academy, Ursula holds a Master's degree in Film making. As the CEO of ISB Films, she executive produced Danish filmmaker Lone Scherfig’s “The Movie Teller” and Cold War thriller “Winter of the Crow,” toplining Lesley Manville (“The Crown”).

"The Movie Teller”' is a feature drama directed by Lone Scherfig that unfolds in 1960s Atacama Desert, Chile, depicting María Magnolia's endeavor to pass on her passion for art to her daughter, who becomes the village's storyteller. The documentary "Blindfold" chronicles the inspirational journey of Jon Santacana, diagnosed with a degenerative disease at 8, who defied odds to become one of the greatest Para-Olympics skiers. "Alphonso Ford – Score Until the Last Day" is a documentary directed by Aris Tsiaras that portrays the life of the legendary basketball scorer who battled leukemia while achieving remarkable success.

Looking ahead, ISB Films has upcoming projects such as "The Invisible Contract," a feature-length documentary shedding light on the lives of women cleaning the streets of Mexico City, and "Hijas del Agua," a feature drama set in the world of synchronised swimming.
