The world's largest Automatic Waste Collection System by MariMatic is operating in the mosque al-Masjid al-Ḥarām and surrounding areas. The system includes waste chute, intermediary storage container and pipe network. Waste is conveyed pneumatically to the waste transfer terminal into containers.

The latest order of Automatic Waste Collection System is for a new part of the city called Masar Makkah, where it's core components - walking boulevards - are equipped with waste collection stations, litter bins, chutes and intermediary storage containers. Over 210 plots with hotels and hotel apartment buildings are connected to a pipe network. The system will be the second largest Automatic Waste Collection System in the world - also delivered by MariMatic.
