A common argument to keep the idea of free will present is that if our behaviour is defined by what happened before, it is absolutely predetermined and predictable and that goes against quantum mechanics, which says that there is fundamental uncertainty in the physical nature of our world. Another problem is that, the alleged determinism of human behavior doesn’t seem to help us to know who is going to commit a murder in advance. Robert Sapolsky responds to these points with some insights into what's going on in the brain and how well we understand neural processes at this point.
