2024 Acura TLX Review.
Refreshed for 2024, the turbocharged Acura TLX is the brand’s largest and most expensive sedan. Bigger than the Acura Integra, the TLX stands out in the competitive midsize sport-sedan class with sleek design, a premium interior, notable performance, and a memorable driving experience. The Tech and all-wheel-drive A-Spec trims are powered by a responsive 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 272 horsepower. That’s more standard power then you get from the Audi A6, BMW 5 Series, Cadillac CT5, or Volvo S60. Buyers looking for more can step up to the Type S and its 355-hp turbocharged V6. For less than $60,000, it’s a performance bargain with Acura’s excellent all-wheel-drive system, a track-tuned suspension, 20-inch wheels, and big Brembo brakes.

Every TLX handles well, but the Type S is considerably quicker and more athletic. The TLX also delivers on the promise of luxury with a smooth ride, quiet cabin and well-appointed interior. But this isn’t your father’s sports sedan. The TLX’s cabin has a youthful, modern look and feel. A new digital gauge cluster and larger infotainment screen enhance the experience. Its infotainment system works well once you get used to its touchpad interface. The TLX has earned the highest possible safety ratings and it has a larger trunk than the Genesis G70, Volvo S60 and Lexus IS. Buyers will receive the Acura Maintenance Package, a complimentary maintenance plan for the first two years or 24,000 miles. Overall the 2024 Acura TLX is a strong value.

Positives.
Appealing balance of comfort and performance. Lower price than many of its European rivals. Attractive design inside and out.

Considerations.
Less rear seat legroom than key competitors. Infotainment touchpad can be annoying.

Verdict.
The 2024 Acura TLX hits a sport-sedan sweet spot with fresh styling, premium appointments, fun-to-drive performance, and attractive pricing.

What's New for 2024.
This year the Acura TLX gets a long list of changes and updates. Acura has discontinued the Base, Advance, and PMC Edition trim levels. Every 2024 TLX gets a new, more sophisticated look with a frameless grille design. The popular A-Spec gets a restyled rear bumper and more aggressive round exhaust tips. There’s also additional standard equipment, including 19-inch wheels, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Milano Leather seating, a premium ELS Studio audio system, and ambient LED cabin lighting. Acura has also added a digital gauge cluster and a larger 12.3-inch infotainment screen to all models. The sedan’s AcuraWatch suite of safety and driver-assist systems has been improved with a new radar system and a rear seatbelt reminder is now standard. The top Type S trim features new black dual spoke wheels, a surround-view camera, a head-up display, and improved throttle response in the Sport+ driving mode. Two new paint colors are available: Urban Gray Pearl and Liquid Carbon Metallic.
Trims and Pricing.
The 2024 Acura TLX is available in three trim levels: Technology Package, A-Spec Package, and Type S. We recommend the Technology Package for most buyers, and will explain why below.
